The sky at the moment you arrived.
A natal chart is a map of where everything was when you took your first breath. Read carefully, it describes temperament, need, and the friction you keep running into.
What it is
A description of pattern, not a prediction.
Your birth chart is the position of the Sun, Moon and planets at your exact time and place of birth, arranged against the twelve signs and twelve houses. Nothing about it is mystical to calculate; it is astronomy. What the tradition adds is a way of reading that arrangement as a description of character.
Read well, a chart is uncannily good at naming things you already half know: why a certain kind of demand exhausts you, why you keep circling a particular decision, where your natural competence sits, what you need that you have never asked for out loud. Read badly, it is a horoscope column. The difference is whether the reader treats the chart as a whole pattern or as a list of traits.
I read it as a whole. That means fewer placements covered, in more depth, with attention to how they contradict each other, because most people are contradictions and a reading that smooths that over is not describing anyone.
What you get
Roughly two thousand words, written for you.
- Your Sun, Moon and rising explained in plain language, and what happens where they disagree.
- The three or four aspects doing the most work in your chart, and what each one actually feels like from the inside.
- Where your natural competence sits, including the parts you may discount because they come easily.
- The recurring friction: the thing that keeps showing up, and what the chart suggests it is asking for.
- Language you can use for all of it, which is often the most useful part.
What I need
Three pieces of information.
What I need from you
- Your birth date.
- Your birth time, as exact as you can get it. Your birth certificate is the reliable source; a hospital record or a parent’s memory of the hour is usually close enough.
- The city and state or country where you were born.
If you don’t know your birth time, say so on the form. I can still read the chart, but the houses and the rising sign are unreliable without it, and I will tell you which parts of the reading that affects rather than quietly guessing.
Honest limits
What a birth chart will not do.
- It will not predict events, and it will not give you dates. That is a different reading, and even then it deals in seasons rather than certainties.
- It will not diagnose anything. If something in your life needs a doctor or a therapist, the chart is not a substitute and I will say so.
- It will not tell you what to do. It describes the pattern; the decisions stay yours.
- It is not a personality test with a right answer. If something in the reading does not fit, it does not fit, and you should say so.

Readings are written for reflection and perspective. They are not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, and nothing in a reading should replace a qualified professional where one is needed.
